The Interview

Those left behind were grouped into three (ten people for each group). We were all led through a long hallway where the dressing rooms were.  They weren't able to find a place to hold an interview for each of us.  So we all waited in the long hallway.  The ten of us.

We were all kinda nervous and tense and delighted. The girl who's going to be interviewed first expressed her nervousness about the interview and we assured her that she'll do fine.  I was fourth in line.  And it's only around 3pm.

Soon, ten seats arrived, courtesy of the maintenance guys.  We seated ourselves comfortably and made small talk.  I learned that the guy on my left (fifth in line) was a seminarian.  To my right was an ex-professor in CSB who's taking up his MBA (Roby is his name).  The seminarian was starving already.  I took out my Sky Flakes and handed them out to my batch. I got out from my knapsack a bottle of water and told them that I was able to smuggle the food and drink.

-oOo-

When it was my turn to be interviewed, I was surprised that the interviewer greeted me with, "O, si kuya naman pala e!  Pasado ka na!"  (O, it's big brother! You're already in!)

Then she closed the door of the dressing room.  The interview was kinda short.  She was still looking at my bio-data when she told me she was a copywriter before in a big ad agency.  But she's now with ABS CBN.  She's more into the world of tv than the advertising world.  She asked me where will I spend the money if I win. I told her that 10% of it will go to church. The rest will go to other expenses... was thinking of having our garden gate repaired...

"So you sing?"  She asked.  "Yes," I answered.  "Sing for me." "Ok."  So I sang.  I think it was a few bars from "The Promise."  She asked me who will go with me if ever I get to be chosen to play.  Told her that I will get my relatives and some friends from my church.  She said that the show needed someone who can stand up to Kris and not wilt like some starstruck fan.  I told her not to worry.  Being in the ad industry and working with showbiz people as talents have made me feel relaxed in the presence of celebrities.

To make the story short, the intervew went smoothly.  She reminded me that there were still tests to be done.  If ever I get past this interview, they will give me a call to proceed to the next stage, the mock game.  She wished me luck as I went out of the dressing/interview room and went out of the studio.

It was 4.30pm.  What a gruelling day!  Am crossing my fingers that I can make it to the next level!

to be continued...
