Cadillac Records

Rating: ★★★ Category: Movies Genre: Drama The movie gives you a crash course on how the blues became rock and roll. Told from the eyes of Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright), we see how the pillars of blues were discovered. The narrative bores the hell out of me hahahahahaha. (I've read somewhere that some critics had problems with the script). What keeps me going through the movie is the soundtrack. Very, very good! While watching the movie, I got the feeling that Director Darnell Martin tried so hard to make this film worthy of an Oscar (sad to say, it didn't get any nomination). The film makes you realize that there's no life for The Ram but the four corners of the ring as a wrestler, even after he had a bypass. The movie is character-driven and the action scenes are just the backdrop in telling The Ram's story. And yes, Mickey Rourke gives a compelling performance worthy of an Osc...
