Ang Testigo (The Witness), Part 3

Blog entry date: April 17th, 2007

We all found ourselves getting into the thick of rehearsals.

Although there were those who were absent in one rehearsal, the next rehearsal they were there.  I can say that we were all responsible enough to catch up with what we have missed.  And it seemed that we will never gather everyone for a run through.  But at the last week of rehearsals, we all came through.  We poured out everything we’ve got and we lifted everything to the Lord.  He knew our hearts.

That last week of rehearsals, I was struck with coughs and colds.  My voice was hoarse and I can barely sing.  Good thing Marie had her handy pepaqua.  It sustained me till after the play was staged.  Of course with a little help from the old reliable salabat.  Was somewhat bothered and worried since I had some solo parts. Again, it was amazing how God gave me the voice to sing.  Harold even said that it was nice to hear me use a headtone for a change!  Hahahahahaha! Sheesh!! I really wanted to belt!  But then again, I was happy enough to have found my voice, thank God!

One of the nicest things that happened during the rehearsals was the bonding.  We found in each other the support we need.  Moral and spiritual.  Food support, included!  We all cared for the production that you can sense that this was all for love.  And yes, it was all a labor of love.  We were there not because we were paid to perform (we were not!).  We were there because we volunteered.  We were present, no matter what.  We did what we had to do so we can deliver God’s message through the musical.  It was all a labor of love.  And it all showed during our performance that Easter Sunday.

To be continued...
