My Sister's Keeper

Rating:★★★★
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Jodi Picoult
I first encountered Jodi Picoult's writing when she had her turn in scripting Wonder Woman. I found that her narrative was fluid and her humor delightful. When I visited the DC Message Boards, I learned that Jodi Picoult had penned many books, one of which was made into a movie and will be shown late June... My Sister's Keeper.

When I saw the movie trailer, I began to hunt down the book but to no avail. Until Fully Booked had a promo when the paperback movie tie-in was released. Buy the book and you get a ticket to watch the advanced screening of My Sister's Keeper.

My Sister's Keeper is about Ana who was genetically conceived by her parents to become the perfect bone marrow match for her sister Kate, who's suffering from a rare form of leukemia. Ana has become the perpetual donor for Kate's medical needs, from blood to tissue to bone marrow... Ana has never questioned her role as a sister's keeper...until now, when Kate needs Ana's kidney. And when Ana sues her family for medical emancipation, it's a decision that will break up the family apart.

Craftily written by Picoult, she takes on the different points of view of her characters as the story unravels for each of them. You begin to understand each character's motivations and feel for them, their ups and downs... You begin to care for them. I can't stop turning the pages 'til I reached the resolution of the whole story. I won't spoil it. Something like this is better read and experienced by you.

Happy reading!
