Yes, this musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn and a book by Rachel Sheinkin deserved all the Tonys it got during the 2005 Tonys.
My only gripe? Some words sung by the actors weren't that audible, making them less understandable. I dunno if it was an audio problem or what... I guess the actors were really trying hard to sound like children (which they were all portraying). Nonetheless, I didn't let that dampen my enjoyment.
Kudos to Bobby Garcia, a very able director who made the whole experience of watching this show unforgettable. Though all the actors in the play were great, those that stood out for me were Rycharde Everley, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza and Thea Tadiar-Everley. And as usual, Joel Trinidad was very good!
Hmmm. I think I'm gonna see it the second time around!
